Nikko Toshogu Shrine is located in Yamauchi, Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture.It is the main headquarters of Toshogu Shrine.The main enshrinement deity is Tosho Ogongen (Tokugawa Ieyasu).The architecture of Toshogu Shrine is exquisitely carved and magnificent.Among them, the Japanese-style Mingyang Gate and the Chinese-style Tang Gate are its representative buildings.Its design aesthetic also interprets different metaphors, "Sleeping Cat": the carved sleeping cat has two flying sparrows on its back.This symbiotic coexistence between animals is said to symbolize the peaceful future of the newly unified Japan, and it is also the most famous sculpture of Toshogu Shrine - "Sanbu monkey".The first one is "not seen", the second one is "not spoken", and the third one is "not heard".
