Nibutani Ainu Kotan The Nibutani area of Hiratori Town in the middle reaches of the Saru River is still home to many Ainu people. NEPKI's Ainu cultural guides will take you on a guided tour around the Ainu Kotan, an area with a strong Ainu culture, related to "hunting and animal kamui.
Deer Antler Processing Lecture by an Ainu hunter at the workshop. Deer antler parts are shaved with sandpaper and combined to make a paper knife. In addition to the processing experience, visitors can actually hold and use hunting tools such as bows and arrows used by the Ainu hunters and swords (emusi) used in ceremonies.
Kuchachise construction Visitors will experience the "Kucha Chise" used by the Ainu hunters as a hunting hut, starting from the procurement of materials. This is a wild experience in which everyone will work together to build a dome-shaped base camp made of stacked pine leaves. |
