    Asahiyama zoo is the northernmost zoo in Japan, which is located in Asahikawa city, Hokkaido. Generally zoos in Japan focus on just the exhibition of animals. However, the Asahiyama Zoo focuses on exhibition of the animals’ behavior so that visitors can watch real life behavior of animals. This dramatic style of exhibition made the zoo famous. The zoo is mostly crowded with families, dating couples, and other visitors. More than 1.65 million visitors came to the zoo in the fiscal year of 2013.

  • Q.What should I do if I’m carrying a suitcase or large luggage?
  • A.Large-sized luggage can be stored in the trunk space of the bus. However please note, in the event luggage is damaged, no compensation will be given, so your luggage is your responsibility.
  • Q.Can I leave a tour mid-way through?
  • A.Yes it is possible to leave a tour mid-way, but you absolutely must inform the guide of your intentions. Also please bear in mind, when leaving a tour early there will be no refunds, even for the parts of the itinerary you will no longer participate in. Furthermore, please understand that after leaving the group any transport, lodging, and food costs will be your responsibility.
  • Q.Are seats adjoining?
  • A.Generally there will be a seat beside your own, and seats near to your front and rear. Although, there are also non-reserved seat bus tours so please acknowledge this before booking.
  • Q.Can I choose my seat in advance?
  • A.As a rule, we are unable to accept seat booking requests. The seating will be allocated on the day of boarding or will be non-reserved seating.
  • Q.My child is pre-school age, do I still need to pay their fare too?
  • A.It entirely depends on the type of tour. If there is no particular mention of price divisions, you may ride with the child seated upon your lap however, in this case, there will be no seat for the child.
  • Q.What should I do if my plane or train is late and I can’t make it to the bus on time?
  • A.Generally, if you miss your bus due to your plane or train being late there are no refunds. Before booking please allow ample transit time in your itinerary.
  • Q.Is there a toilet on the bus?
  • A. No, generally there are no toilets on-board.
