As Shiretoko is it situated between mountains and sea it has a variety of beautiful landscape. We will take you to the subalpine 600m-700m above sea level(To really see Shiretoko from all angles we recommend you also do the “1 day nature course” which will take you up to 300m above sea level). Stand 2000m-2500m above the rest of Japan. It’s 3km from the hiking start point to Lake Rausu. As the path is rocky and hilly it takes this course will take half a day to complete. This course is harder than the “1 day nature course”. We do not recommend to people who aren't confident in there ability or have a bad knee etc. The course will take from 8.00am-1.00pm and we won’t have lunch.

If there are bear appearances we may have to change the planned path.
We will continue in light rain.
Please bring water-proof clothing.
If there are reports of paths closed due to weather or warnings issued there are times we have to cancel the tour.
* Our on location staff only speak Japanese and a little basic English. Any questions must be made in either Japanese or English.
