Course highlights

1,Shurijo Castle served as the center of politics, diplomacy and culture of the Ryukyu Kingdom after ts unification in 1429.

2,The underground shelter was used as the Okinawa region headquarters of the Japanese Navy during the Battle of Okinawa.

3,A memorial tower for the Himeyuri students who were mobilizedas nursing units aand died in the Battle of Okinawa.

4,At the end of March 1945, Okinawa was heavily damaged by the war where the civilian deaths outnumbered the military fatalities. At the Cornerstone of Peace, the names of all those who died in the fighting are inscribed on it without regard to natinality.

5,You will enjoy the charms of Okinawa as you explore the large liestone cave Gyokuendo Cave and the Kngdom Village, a beautiful town with traditional houses with red brick roofs.
