Enjoy Nibutani Ainu Culture! 2-day/1-night cultural experience tour
The tour is a two-day and one-night cultural experience tour to experience the depth of Ainu culture in the Nibutani area of Hiratori Town, where the Ainu culture is still very much alive.
In addition to the explanations of the Ainu Kotan and museum exhibits, visitors will learn antler processing from an Ainu hunter and build a kucha chise, which was used by Ainu hunters as a hunting lodge, from the procurement of the materials.
At the end of the tour, visitors can enjoy nature while drinking tea made from ent (Naginata kouju), a traditional Ainu food, in the kuchachise they built.

Nibutani Ainu Kotan
The Nibutani area of Hiratori Town in the middle reaches of the Saru River is still home to many Ainu people. NEPKI's Ainu cultural guides will take you on a guided tour around the Ainu Kotan, an area with a strong Ainu culture, related to "hunting and animal kamui.

Deer Antler Processing
Lecture by an Ainu hunter at the workshop. Deer antler parts are shaved with sandpaper and combined to make a paper knife. In addition to the processing experience, visitors can actually hold and use hunting tools such as bows and arrows used by the Ainu hunters and swords (emusi) used in ceremonies.

Kuchachise construction
Visitors will experience the "Kucha Chise" used by the Ainu hunters as a hunting hut, starting from the procurement of materials. This is a wild experience in which everyone will work together to build a dome-shaped base camp made of stacked pine leaves.
